Ronan Byrne is the founder of Strong Body Stronger Mind Counselling and Coaching. His passion for sports and mental toughness, along with his certification as a clinical trauma professional, inspired him to develop a holistic approach to coaching. Ronan is renowned for his ability to push clients to challenge themselves and reach their full potential, becoming the go-to coach for those seeking personal, business, and athletic growth. In fact, Ronan represented Canada in the sprint distance triathlon world championships in Montreal in 2022. Today, he continues to help countless individuals transform their bodies, build confidence, and develop mental resilience, guiding them toward achieving their goals with unparalleled support and motivation.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a certification in trauma counselling, Ronan’s philosophy is centered around the belief that true success stems from a focus on effort and cultivating positive habits rather than chasing quick, fleeting results. With a firm belief that mental toughness, self-discipline, and motivation can be developed and learned, Ronan empowers clients to unlock their full potential. By helping them to build positive and successful habits, Ronan guides his clients towards greater self-worth and confidence. He motivates and challenges them to step out of their comfort zone, face their fears, and take action through a system of accountability that drives sustainable, lasting change. 

​​Ronan has 28 years of experience as a Programs Officer at the Correctional Service of Canada, where he delivered specialized interventions and counseling to federal offenders who were in crisis and at high risk of re-offending. Through his extensive experience, he has honed his skills in motivational interviewing and counseling. In fact, Ronan is recognized as the Pacific Region’s foremost expert in Motivational Interviewing.

Ronan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a specialization in human performance and social psychology from the esteemed University of Victoria. Ronan’s love for the field of psychology fuels his unwavering commitment to exploring and comprehending human nature and developing cutting-edge strategies to motivate and influence his clients to achieve their aspirations. His passion has led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling and Psychology from the University of Seattle, where he focusing on the topics of mental toughness, post traumatic growth, and resiliency.

Ronan offers an array of workshops and training camps, including a highly regarded GOAL SETTING SEMINAR, a unique mental toughness training camp called STRONG BODY STRONGER MIND, and comprehensive team fitness and conditioning camps. These programs were born out of his recognition of a significant need for mental skills training. Ronan is an expert in various mental skills, such as visualization, self-confidence, overcoming thinking errors, finding purpose, and conquering fear and anxiety, which he incorporates into his programs for clients.

Ronan lives in the Fraser Valley with his family. He is an accomplished athlete, having played at the professional level in Rugby Union is a 5 x Ironman Triathlete, Spartan competitor, marathon runner, and most recently took first place in the T-Zone National Bodybuilding championships (men’s grandmaster physique division). In his spare time, Ronan enjoys world travel, reading, Chess, movies, and competing.
